This study aims to examine how the values of Dalihan Na Tolu, the traditional kinship system of the Batak Toba community, are understood and implemented in the pastoral practices of church elders at HKBP Setia Negara. The main focus of the research is to explore the extent to which these cultural values align with the Christian faith and contribute to the spirituality of church service. Employing a qualitative approach with descriptive methods, data were collected through in-depth interviews with selected church elders and ministers using purposive sampling. The findings reveal that values such as respect, humility, and social responsibility embedded in Dalihan Na Tolu not only shape social relations but also reinforce ethical and spiritual dimensions of Christian ministry. However, tensions may arise when cultural symbols are interpreted excessively or in ways that overshadow theological centrality. The study concludes that Dalihan Na Tolu can serve as a rich source of spiritual insight and cultural embodiment in Christian service, provided it is critically and contextually interpreted in light of the Gospel.
